Helpful ways to pay for college

Too often students assume they are not eligible for financial assistance, so they don't even apply. However, the only way to know if you're eligible for 援助 is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for 联邦 Student Aid). The FAFSA is free to complete and will inform students of their 援助 eligibility for the upcoming academic year. 

**IMPORTANT UPDATE: DELAY FOR 2024-2025 FAFSA**

November 2023 Update: The 2024-25 FAFSA is expected to be available for students by December 31, 2023, and schools will receive completed FAFSA information at the end of January 2024. 学生 who file a 2024-25 FAFSA between December 31, 2023 and February 15, 2024 can expect to receive financial 援助 communications about required documents and 援助 offer in mid-February 2024. As a result of legislative updates, the FAFSA is being revised by 联邦 Student Aid with changes that will make it much simpler for our students and families to complete. As a result, the 2024-25 FAFSA for fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2025 will be released in December 2023. We will update students and the community with an exact date once that information has been released. The FAFSA timeline will return to normal next year, with the 2025-26 FAFSA releasing on October 1, 2024.

Types of financial 援助

By filing the FAFSA, you could be eligible for:

• 联邦 grants — federal financial 援助, such as the 联邦 Pell Grant, that does not have to be 偿还;
• PA 国家拨款 — state financial 援助 that does not have to be 偿还;
• 奖学金 和奖励 — institutional financial 援助 that does not have to be 偿还;
• 联邦 工作研究 — part-time employment that helps finance your education;
• 贷款 — borrowed money that must be rep援助 with interest;
• 税收抵免 and deductions.
